    Business Unit Head - Footwear

    • Heading the operations of three industrial safety shoes facilities with a capacity of 3 million+ pairs annually by a combined workforce of 1,000+
    • Regular coordination with suppliers, merchandisers, and contractors.
    • Work closely with marketing team for pre-marketing sampling and costing.
    • Sourcing of raw material suppliers, creating a database and focusing on unit economics
    • Ensuring seamless production at capacity with minimum possible down time
    • Establish processes where necessary and review performance matrix for all departments
    • Resolve all issues pertaining to logistics, maintenance, laborers, and government bodies 
    • Prepare weekly reports on progress and make necessary recommendations to the management on data-backed results
    • Updating SOPs for the operations to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery.
    • Regular training and development of workers and implanting best industry practices
    • Preparing project reports as and when needed for new product development and machine installation

    Requirements

     

    • Bachelors/master’s degree or its equivalent with focus on operations or supply chain
    • Minimum of 10 years working experience dealing in footwear operations, preferably for safety shoes.
    • Knowledge of technical textiles and/or leather immensely valued
    • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP based reporting
    • Strong communication skills in English, Hindi and/or Bengali. Good written skills in English are plus.
    • Strong analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills
    • Proven leadership skills and ability to work in a team setting
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
